How to attach LPS/SPS to LR

Someone bought me a coral today when i told them not to as my tank is not fully cycled. The coral already stung me with fibre look alike stings. Will post pics 2morrow so someone can identify. It looks like a lettuce. Anyway, how do stick it on my LR? The base that comes with the coral is awefully big with some awful white spongy thing with lots of stingers. I need to stick it on the upper part of my tank to have sufficient lights. As the sand beds n bottom part are for my shroom, softies and LPS..

BTW, i really dont want any SPS in my tank but somehow my parents went to coral farm and buy LS without my notice. I was shaking my head when they return coz i know that my tank is not fully cycled yet. They bought me a coral, 1 small little clown, foxface, blue tang.. Shake Head.

Post a pic. I go to Coral Farm a lot, but can't picture what coral you are talking about. As for the fish, they should be quarantined before going into your tank. Coral Farm fish are fairly healthy compared to some shops, but I still see signs of ich and dead fish in their tanks. While quarantined the main tank can cycle. If you already put them in, then do frequent water changes for a couple of weeks.

Yeah, will upload the pics tonight... Indeed there are some ich, my blue tang got the ich, as i dun have any quarantine tank yet. I just acclimate it and put it in my display. I freshwater dip the tang.. Now its starts swimming and eating.. White spots gone..

it also depends what type of coral you trying to cut or break...LPS will be more challenging....SPS will be pretty easy to de-tach from the LR....post a pic...it tells a thousand words.

This is bro slappers pic.. The coral im talking about is the one circled in red. I dont even see any polyps on it. just spines (which poked into my fingers) and holes and a spongy bottom with spines too.

That's an orange sponge. I got one from coral farm also. You can buy some underwater putty to stick the rock it's attached to where you want it. I just wedge mine in the rock. Sponges are actually an invertebrate, not a coral. It doesn't sting, just feels prickly. Don't let algae grow on it. If it turns white looking, it's dying. I wouldn't cut it off its rock until you are sure it's doing well. Sponges aren't always the easiest thing to keep.
