Cleaning LR

Got a sand storm after adding arag alive substrate. It covers my LR with small paritcles of dust. How do i clean it?

I think u should have placed the sand during the initial setup

Anyway, it might be a good idea to use a wave maker or power head to blow the substrate off ur LR, alternatively just suck them out with a really small hose (I use an air tube).

I saw you only have 2-3 kg of LR? Just turn them over and give them a gentle shake. The loose sand will fall off.

Anyway, your LR will then stand on the sand instead of now, which is in direct contact w the tank glass bottom.

I brush with a toothbrush my LRs periodically and more often when there are nuisance algae or detritus on them.

As your tank is new, I suggest you brush your LRs frequently, This will help you rid any nuisance algae or for this case sand and also assist coralines to settle.

If you have the amount of LRs that I do, you wouldn't be picking them up and bringing them to the wave-maker. One wrong move and your fishes will be on the floor. LOL

Fishes on the floor = Tank glass broke and fishes on the floor..... I dun think you want that.

Anyway, you did the right thing by coming forward to ask whenever unsure and this will prevent you from making unnecessary mistakes.

I would have place the clean sand in the bucket and scoop into a container and pour slowly on the tank bed. Minimize all these problem..

Eventually i did but the grain size of the bimini pink is mixed so some packed water got into it. But its ok. The Bio Magnet does works.
