xeneryx
I have a yellow tang in my tank. Been wanting to buy a purple. But heard that they can never stay together. What you guys think ?
marshalll
Best if you add both in concurrently. If not, in your case, you might want to rescape your tank and isolate your yellow first.
Anchorman
IMO, ur new purple tang should equal size to ur YT or slightly bigger. Size does matter in the tank. Cheers. zico
Bro. How's the chaeto ? hee... I am doing things slowly on my tank. Worry if i do too fast on the equipments, i will not be able to learn and read up first on my options, end up will regret. Hee... Back on the topic. I m also v keen to add YT and PT. So will wait for a chance when i see them both available in either CF or Sealife. CF has PT now. Plenty. But no YT. Jireh has nice YTs today. Personally i like the fishes from CF and Sealife. SRC Member hanafi_weeseng Posted June 6, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted June 6, 2012 For me I keep 2 yellow n 2 purple tangs in 4 footer. Yellow are with me for 3 years before adding the purple 1 week ago from sealife. Only first day the yellows bully newcomers, now they mind their own business. The first few hours was fine. when i woke up, the yellow tang keept showing agression and swinging his tail to the purple. what should i do now ? thanks! I was advised to place a mirror at the side of the tank to divert the attention of the bullies. It ur new PT same size or smaller than ur YT? If smaller you may have to isolate the YT in betta box to let the new comer times to adapt. Another way is to create a hiding cave by re-arrange the liverock for the new fish. Hope it helps, Cheers. I just catch my yt and place it in the betta box. Actually I've done this before and let it out after a day. This time I will put it longer. I will try put a mirror also. SRC Member clownfish_forever Posted June 30, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted June 30, 2012 If you can afford to rescape, that may help too. Trick the YT to feel that it is in a new territory as that it is no longer its territory hehe. zico
Just bought a YT, PT and a Sailfin all together @ same time. Intend to leave all 3 together in a basket floating on the tank with lights off. Will keep lights off for rest of today.... simulate dark clouds for my tank today... hehe. Then quietly release them tonite when its all dark. Wish me luck.
