My monti cap grew a finger.

Damned cute. Now it looks like a swan with an E.T. like finger as neck and head. Lol.

Also bought a polyp of ric over the weekend. It was already splitting.

But a bigger surprise when I saw an extra mouth after it has settled.

This means I paid only for one polyp, but will likely end up with 3 polyps soon.

Yeah.

Nice ric. Where you got it from? When you decide to frag it, reserve some for me, =)

The UAS look really good! 2ft with 10 fishes and coral, can handle the bioload with skimmer. I should try to DIY that too!

Try it. You won't regret it.

I've gone without skimmer for more than a month already, and I'm starting to feel more confident of adding more livestock real soon. Haha..

Would be great, mind pming the cost? Do they have blue, purple, orange and yellowric floradia?

Tiny gonio! Omg! Nice. I also want, haha

Better to add slowly. Uas needs time to adapt to new bioload. And you also need time to adapt to possible increase in space needs of uas before they start growing in your tank.

Can iq5 squeeze in an uas? Haha. Can't wait for your office build.

Mr Scientist dropped by for a chat, and I get a rock of 2 anemones in my tank!

Thanks for letting me house these beautiful specimens for you. I hope they thrive in my tank.

Tried plucking out as much as I can, and this Is what is collected. Some stray algae was left in the tank, and when the return pump was turned on again, the tangs were going crazy with this fresh greens.

Pods are also in abundance. All fishes had a nice feast.

Tank Updates. 26.10.2012. (Photo Intensive)

It's been a long while since my last updates.

I was just gazing into my little nano, when I found a Hidden Mickey on my RBTA. So I whipped out my trusty iPhone 4, and snapped a shot of it.

Well, one thing led to another, I ended up taking a couple of hundreds of shots... LOL..

Can you find the Hidden Mickey?

My current favourite photo models... The Clowns dancing in their Gonios homes.

This one hosts the bigger gonio..

This one has to settle for the smaller gonio. Living next to the "want-to-split-but-cannot-split F. Ric.

Bought a pair of Helfrichis today.

Planned to keep them in a betta box till the new tank is ready in a few weeks, and let them be the first residents in there...

post-3628-13533296287535_thumb.jpgpost-3628-13533296287535_thumb.jpg

However, I didn't count them to be so tiny that they can easily slip through the betta box holes. Thus they were out of the box in minutes.

As a result, as expected, they were whacked left right centre. Looks half dead.

Found another smaller box now. Both the fishes are caught and kept in this box now.

I hope they recover...

Reefing is sharing. People with rotten mouth is sure a loser for life as expected. When a tomato gets rotten, you can nvr save it.. Throw it away before it infect the good ones.

After tearing apart the small tank for the competition at imm at the beginning of the month, it looked as though a storm blew over it.

post-3628-13569741932761_thumb.jpg

Unfortunately, the new tank was not fully cycled for me to transfer the livestock immediately after the competition. So the livestock went back into this tank.

There were casualties, partly due to the stress of transport and disturbance to the small water volume, and also due to my absence for 5 days on holiday.

Finally also found a buyer for the tank.

So this post marks the end of this nano tank journey.

This tank has given me loads of fond memories. It was by far, the most DIY I've done on a tank setup. A lot of lessons were also learnt- I would count going skimmerless the most radical and successful experiment I've done.

But most valuable thing for me is the reefing friends I've made in the last 8 months.

I've also never been more active in this forum than ever before.

I'll miss you, my little nano..

A sneak peek into the future..
