MP10 or MP40

Hi,

I having a 2.5FT cube tank 12mm glass, would MP10 be enough? Heard MP10 cannot be used on 12mm glass thickness? Any bros using it on 12mm glass?

Or will an MP40 be overkill for my tank?

Yes. MP10 good for up to 10..

I used to run mp40 on my 3ft lps.. too strong So had to tune down at most up to 20%.. So kinda defeats the purpose. Y don't u consider others?

For 2.5ft, MP40 full blast will get Sandstorm if tank bedded with fine sand !

It is length of the tank count not the width.

Better not. Tried MP10 on my 10mm 3ft tank with a layer of 1mm acrylic sheet and it drop off easily especially with full blast mode.

MP40 is ok for your tank as long you reduce it to 70-80% !

IMHO, max speed will shorten the motor/mechanical life for long run so 80% is just nice..

I did use mp10 on 12mm glass but I remove the layer of foam at both side. May drop if not align properly but I manage to get it to stick.

Maybe if u fixed it to a position it might work for u.. try to "supplement" sticking to glass with those 5mm double side tape or blue tack.. perhaps that will work since it works via magnetic force.
