Found this thing growing at some rock. Use to be tiny but now it is slightly bigger. Use to be one green blob now more green tentacles and hairy too.

It looks like one of Morgan green acros without the branches but still small. Here is a photo of it.

Any ID

It grows superfast, indestructible and stings anything it comes into contact with.

Pix 1 looks like a Blastomusa.

Pix 2 is a rock anemone... a pest... kill it before it spreads.

Isn't rock anemone aka Aiptasia? This one looks different. The tentacles is rounder and greenish in color. Thanks for the info.

No they are not the same thing. Having either of or both is a nightmare to some aquarist.

If you have a soft corals tank then it does not really matters. You can leave them alone althought they will slowly colonised the whole tank and be your main show pieces.

But they are bad news for sps and certain hard corals as the can sting and kill them.

You guys are right it is a pest. Here a picture how it spreads.

Anemonia Majano

http://www.sparklingfloorservice.com/tank.html

And it will sting all corals.

Beautiful and deadly. Luckily I post this up. Now not only I got problem with Aiptasia now a new one pops out. After this I going to set up a group call the "The Reef Pest Buster"

Blastomussa is a fairly rare species. Well I guess I got a good hitchhiker.

Hope it spreads and cover the whole rock. It can also be frag for propagation.

Check this out.

TTboy,

Kalk paste is just simply kalkwasser powder mixed with a little water... so it's pasty.

Just suck it up with a syringe.. and inject right into the open mouth of any pest anemone, majano or aiptasia.

Just don't overdo it and make sure the kalk paste doesn't get into any other coral.
