Need help! Calcium reactor CO2 tank full of condensation

Hi everyone,

Really need some help here from everyone out there...

My calcium reactor's CO2 tank will condense with water on the outside - it gets so bad that a large pool of water collects at the bottom of the tank on the cabinet floor. The condensation happens on the sides of the tank, near the top and the regulator/solenoid area (basically the whole thing).

I'm clueless about how to solve this issue - Internet searches don't bring up any similar cases or solutions.

Anyone with suggestions?

High chance your CO2 is leaking. Rapid decompression of gas cause the tank and regulator to cool down fast. Like how aircon ga works. Check for leaks. Use soapy water and spray over joints to see if there is any bubbling.

I've tried as you suggested but there was no bubbling anywhere when I switched on the solenoid. Will try again... I've tried swapping to a new CO2 tank and changed the O ring on the regulator, and it's still like that. Perhaps it's a faulty solenoid unit then?

mjck is right.

I believe problem lies with the regulator and tank assembly.

Did you white-tape the threads of the assembly? White tapping will minimise micro-leaks which is the cause of condensation.

If the above is done and your soap water leak test yield nothing, I suggest swapping the regulator. i have a spare but you need to self collect and return.

Thanks! Will try to swap the regulator then... It just went from 50 psi on the gauge to 15 in one day :-/
