Sorry Bro Solo, this is a Amblygobius rainfordi. AKA Rainfordi Goby, Court Jester Goby. Characterized by the reddish stripes and sprinkling of white spots along it's back.

Hector's Goby, Amblygobius hectori, is similar but has white to yellow stripes and no white spots along it's back.

Rainfordi goby is beautiful but not the easiest goby to keep alive.

My experience with some is they tend to be picky eater, pecking on the filamentous algae on tank and rock surfaces and eat nothing else.

After a few weeks the stomache is sunken and the fish will die of emaciation.

However there are also a lot that adapt to eating prepared food and is doing well.

So good luck in keeping it and do update your experience with your fish if possible.

I bought one too early last year and till now, it still seem not interested to take in any pellet, cyclopeeze or mysis. I was just wonder how it can survive for almost a year in my tank :erm: w/o taking any food that I dropped in  !

It is surviving on the algae growth in your tank.

Did you realise it getting thinnner or is it still maintaining its weight?
