Drill holes for my iq3?

Hi all bris out there.

Hope this is the right place to post this topic.

Had an idea but dunno if it's feasible.

Thus, Would like your inputs on this.

I am actually thinking of drilling a hole in my iq 3 like an overflow to my main tank's sump. It will be situated right above the sump in the cupboard itself(under my main tank).

This little tank will allow me to keep gobies and shrimps that will definitely not survive in my main tank. Also, I can house those very small frags that always disappear in the main tank as well.

Feasible? Will this plan work? Any issues that I should take note?

Oh by the way. I'm thinking of using PVC pipe as the stand. Since there are for knobs at the base of the tank.
