Rock collector Bill Wolosek dug up the fossilized GBR coral rock in his backyard.  Ray Reser, director at the Museum of Natural History (University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point) says the coral broke away from the Great Barrier Reef.  Over the millenia, glacial movements of many ice ages eventually carried the fossil to central United States; That's nearly 10,000 miles (15,000km) away!
