Reefreef
Hi Guys, Need your advise as i'm redoing my piping for my 4ft recently purchased . Read in article about GF piping. Anyone know how much will it cost per m? Looks like i have to purchase about 7 - 8 mtres. Also, are there any pipes to recommend? Intend to sort this out this week. Thanks and regards,
Gouldian
+GF+ pipes are not really expensive, it is their valves that are expensive. Most reefers feels that they valves are of better quality and chances of leakage and breakage is lower. Another reasons why we use +GF+ is because it is DIN standard therefore it fit better with German equipment that comes in DIN standard as well. However, do note that +GF+ is reluctant to sell direct to consumers and further to that their Singapore Office don't carry the pipes that we normally uses, thus you sometime may have to wait for special orders. Personally, I will still get +GF+ but instead of from them direct, I get from Reef Systems. As for pipes and elbows, you can get VDL from Madpetz or Reef Depot which are also DIN standards. I find getting from retailers/LFS more convenient than stockist. However, if you intends to buy in larger quantities and don't mind the distance and sometimes lack of service, you may try getting from stockist direct. Another alternative stockist is Glynwed which carries FIP valves and pipings, however do note that they are located in Changi. Besides the above, some reefers also get their PVC from Hai Cheong, from my limited knowledge they carry mostly the ANSI Schedule 40s. Hope that helps.... Gouldian
If you only need 7 to 8 meters, you can speak with the LFS mentioned above, they should be able to assist.
