Do you quarantine your new fish/coral before putting in main tank?

Hi fellows,

I don't QT the new fishes or corals due to lack of space for another tank set up. But i do apply a quick dip use aquapham for new LS. It not 100% works for all LS but better than none.

Need to quarantine the fish before add to the main display tank if you are keeping a reef tank. If not, any out break of ich will create a big problem. Adding medicine into the main tank, will stress on the coral.

For fish, do we quarantine using normal hypo salinity or just normal salinity?

Normal salinity. A QT tank only needs a simple surface filter and old tank water.

QT for at least 3 weeks to check for signs of disease, as well as getting them accustomise to the food you feed.

do remember that some livestocks need ample swimming space and/or water flow or else it would stress them.

coral perhaps use Coral RX, as for fish use copper in QT
