Advice On Storing NSW

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow reefers, need some help here.

Just ordered a large amount of NSW, more than enough for my water change.

I was just wondering is there anyway to store the unused NSW at its optimum quality.

Can i keep it in a jerry can with either a powerhead or air pump running inside ?

Will it work and how long can i store it for ?

For mine, the excess are just left in the jerry can w/o pump.

So far so good. Do take note that i've got experience where a bit of algaes

are found at bottom of bottle. Not too sure whether it came from

Lfs or bcoz of stagnant inside. The longest i've stored before is about a mth.

Lets hear from others as well:-)

For me as long as the sea water still smells like sea water and clear (not milky or with a stench) it's good for me, no facts to proof what i say but normally people try to use it as soon as possible to avoid all "live" bacteria dying off (1-2 weeks max)
