What's happening to fish?

Hi guyz,

Bought a white tailed damsel two days ago and have been taget feeding it(put food near it) to eat...It has always been hiding in my Lr cave the whole time...Is this behaviour usual?

i don't think i need to target feed a damn-sel (damsel)

they would rush for food like no1's business... just dump food into the water and they would eat

But if i dump inside still it wont it coz its too afraid to come out of the cave....I have only that fish in my tank and ARRRggghhh i feel so frustrated not seeing it in the front...Plz help is this behaviour normal..??

probably not yet hungry. when staring at it, stand far away fm the tank.

it does not even come out once....coz i secretly crawl like commando also never see it come out.....Hayo....But if this behaviour is normal i can wait...Juz tell me is this normal?

i think your fish is new tio the enviroment and have not adapt to it yet .. so i will not feed .. dun worry damsels are hungry ghost they eat like crazy

Check your water parameters. U using it to cycle tank ah? If stressed they would be rather timid and reclusive. check your water params or just wait a few days and observe. Might be acclimatisation problem.

bro try to create a cave like using yr LR pro its afriad but if u have a cave like in yr tank it will be able to shelter from danger then it will be afriad to come out also the other reason is that its new to the tank give it some time

Technically, no.. this behaviour is not normal for a damsel and your damsel is very likely stressed..

My very first damsel acted like this also because I used it to cycle my very first tank (that was years ago when I didn't know better). It died after a few days due to my ignorance..

I'm guessing that your one and only fish is pretty stressed out by water conditions or even cyanide poisoning..

But if it survives the cycle (which is pretty likely) and gets used to its new environment, it should come out really soon..

yea.. what I said... If you're using it to cycle, it will probably die. I suggest you net it out and keep it somewhere else in the meantime, and just use your LR's dieoff to cycle.

thanks guyz....it came out today(dunno why) maybe probably coz i got a new clownfish and now its happily swimming...not attacking the clownfish....
