Bubble on the rock?

Recommended Posts

Nah, i dont think its bubble algae. Mine is same all over the place, but its real air bubbles. My tanks only a week old, so guess it's oxygen forming from algae on the rocks?

Also, i seem to recall a buddy of mine talking about ways to minimize bubbles a so called "bubble trap" whats that for?

So far, I heard of the following causes:

(a) Gases produce by algae. Take care of the algae problem.

(B) Gases produce by bacteria. nothing to do, your tank need the bacteria for bio-filtration.

© Air accumulating due to micro bubbles introduced to tank. fix the source of micro bubbles. Usually due to flowing water falling between partitions in the sump. Could also be caused by protein skimmer.
