This is my first and hopefully to carry on with this hobby for many many years to come....really hard decision to start this as i travel quite a bit for work...but luckily got my wife into this with me......keep finger crossed....keke

Here is what I got so far...most of my equipment including tank is used from pasar malam....and got a lot of good tips from bros here...

1. Tank - 5ft x 1.5ft x 2 ft with cabinet and good sump

2. Skimmer - Reef Maniac & BM150 (see which one is more effective)

3. Chiller - Resun C0500

4. FR - Reef Maniac FR

5. ATI T5 Lighting (Bought 3-in timer switch)

6. 2 x LED light (Single bulb) for night light

7. Tunze Wavemaker - 3 nos

8. Some "dead" Live rock (to form the base)

9. BioDigest & BioPellets (From Madpetz)

Operation will start next tuesday when my Tank is delivered by SGbros and next day NSW will come as well......looking forward...

Point to take note of and it help you to save trouble of rescaping later on

Keep in mind that what kind of corals you are planning to keep when design scaping ...

where you going to put your wave maker.. structure of the rocks will affect the waves..

How many viewing panel ?

Have not thought about the type of corals yet...most likely lps and soft....yes still have algae....weekend task to clear it....thanks...

you need to think of where to place what kind of corals too...

Softy usually comes with rocks so places that you going to place softy try to scape so much of rocks

and LPS those branching type you might need to put them in between rocks or in hole..

You can also use epoxy to secure the rocks.

Do glue it well or drill hole and put plastic rods in it.

Scare the whole thing drop and crack the tank base.

Nice rockwork !

Thanks. Have a nice reefer gave me epoxy to glue it up.....kudos

After tank is topped up with NSW....my first thing to do of course is to on the return pump to let the circulation start to flow.....next...add in sand...

IMG_5147.jpg

As recommended by Madpetz...3 different layer of sand might make it look nicer....i'm just worried when the wavemaker start to blow them crazyyyyy....next add in Bacteria King
