magical26
I would like to know as well. Currently using Red Sea Coral Pro, not sure should I make the switch to Blue Treasure
Kakani
Red Sea pro and DD H20 will be better salt. Due to trace element. But blue treasure sea CA,MG,KH on high side which is good for water change.
magical26
From what I read, am I right to say blue treasure salt gives higher Ca, Mg, Kh. While Red Sea coral pro & DD provides not as high Ca, Mg, Kh, but higher amounts of trace element?

tqut
High Ca, Mg & KH is not necessary good when you want to maintain absolute stability. I would rather the Big 3 (Ca,Mg, KH) numbers are lower to match my tank parameters so there is no swing everytime I change water...
hfabs
My comments on Blue Treasure:- 1) to wear a mask when you are adding the salt as it is so fine that it floats in the air and it is not good if you happen to inhale 2) after I throw an airstone in to circulate the salt in the jellycan, I notice fine residual at the base of the jellycan which cannot be dissolved. I wonder if any one using Blue Treasure has the same issues. I have switched back to Tropic Marin since. Not a big fan of China-made products anyway and if they can do funny things to human food they can do anything...just my personal opinion. SRC Member Evolutionz Posted March 27, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted March 27, 2013 RS Coral pro also can see lots of powder floating around when pouring salt into water. Im very happy with RS coral pro as of now.. only need 1 hour + to mix salt completely and achieving crystal clear water.. never had any cloudy problem with this salt.. magical26
Haha... Yup, I know. Hmm... Seems like we can't really deduce whether Blue Treasure is a good salt to use anot.
yellowtang
My comments on Blue Treasure:- INot a big fan of China-made products anyway and if they can do funny things to human food they can do anything...just my personal opinion. I second to the statement. Printed statement and actual composition need to be verified.printing like talking is cheap. Consistency and reliability are solely lacking in China made products. Responsibility is not a trait. This hobby is just too expensive to take a big risk for a small saving. Ever wonder why mainland Chinese prefer to buy milk in HK? It's my personal opinion based on real experience. Cheers, YT
SRC Member Evolutionz Posted March 28, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted March 28, 2013 Very true.. salt mix is like the backbone and brain of a marine set up. Best to pay abit more to go for reputable brand.. 1 Quote EvolutionZ's Floating Reef: (Decommed) EvolutionZ's 4ft shallow Mixed Reef Build :
magical26
Hi fellow reefers, just wondering... Who still using Blue Treasure Salt? When it was first out, there was a lot of hype because of the price. Anyone still using? Any issues with it?
