nsw or saltmix ?

hi bros!

im new to this, have been keeping a small pico tank with salt mix for 3 weeks for now. everything is fine.

going to upgrade it to a 1.5ft cube. so im thinking if i should use salt mix or nsw ? for cycling period..?

and if i use nsw for the cycling period, can i just top it up with salt mix ? can i mix them ?

I recommend nsw... It shorter my cycling time

I personally prefer saltmix over NSW. Reason is that there're tons of microscopic organisms in NSW & you got to trust the supplier to do a thorough filtering before selling. Also, those microscopic organsims will not survive in our home aquarium & hence resulting in massive die off :sick:

Agreed .. I prefer salt mix...

NSW

Good start for new tank. Once stabalise, one may slowly switch to Salt Mix.

Salt Mix(but with DI/DO or RO prep water)

Stabalise / Season tank for better parameter and cleaner water control. Less ich / other parasite problems, less sludge on skimmer i.e less cleaning, clearer water etc. Safer for ich prone fishes like AT, PBT or other prize fish etc...
