General questions on my 5x2.5 FOWLR

Recommended Posts

I hv no feeding problems as I'm able to feed all with combination of pellets and market prawns... just that I thought of adding more banner fish (I use to have 9) but worried the groupers will kill them. Then again its just a thought... not really a must as I am quite ok with the current stock.... I had the groupers since they were juveniles

Another issue is I hv located the tank at quite a brightly lighted area (indirect sunlight) so green algae has grown quite a bit on the rocks and sand.... I can't shift the tank so I could only reduce light exposure by covering the tank top fully... I only switch on the tank lighting for 3 hours every evening (7 to 10) for viewing. Any advice of the algae issue?

hi bro, for this issue, you can try doing a algae scrubber or increase more flow (wavemaker blowing at the bottom - not till creating sandstorm :chair:)

nice tank btw!

thanks.... yea I'll try the wavemaker but I need to cover a bit of the ceiling first to prevent too much sunlight
