i knew of a reefer which uses starboard in his tank, but after a few years he had problem with high nutrient which he cant resolve which maybe due to this. So ended up restarting his whole tank just to remove it.

I am running bare bottom now, but maybe some reefer which have experience can share on this.

So now u using egg crate or just rocks on the bottome?
