Guest
i knew of a reefer which uses starboard in his tank, but after a few years he had problem with high nutrient which he cant resolve which maybe due to this. So ended up restarting his whole tank just to remove it. I am running bare bottom now, but maybe some reefer which have experience can share on this. SRC Member peacemaker Posted January 26, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted January 26, 2012 In reefing terms, bare bottom means nothing on the base of the tank. Most reefers who use egg crates as a cushion between the live rocks and the base of the tank will have some form of substrate, mainly sand, to conceal them. SRC Member Copperband Posted January 27, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted January 27, 2012 hahahaha.... I had a tough time removing the rocks with the reefer Harelquin mentioned..... not worth it.... just stack the rock securely as possible.... epoxy or superglue to be extra safe..
