I do remember reading a thread on Harlequin Shrimp with a link which leads to a webpage with an actual pictorial account of such a spectacle... and I mean blow-by-blow

Just sneak up, prop up one leg, get under the doomed starfish for better leverage, and with a heave flip it on its back.... then happily pounce on a meaty leg and start to devour it

Hear it takes a week or so to finish .... now THAT'S COOL!!!

I tot that starfish has basically two kinds??/ The general guideline is that the knobby ones are not reef safe while the smooth ones are?? But by the word reef safe does it mean they will not eat clams?? Will these starfish roam on the sand to clean up deritus on the sand?

Anyone with exp, pls share??

My 4 harlequin shrimps all very happy.. They will eat the starfish limb by limb and keep it alive till they reach the center.. Cool huh?
