Hi;

Anyone can help to fix a unit of T2 (1.5ft) light set. Drop it into water then only one side of the light tube is working now.

Feel free to text me if you are able to do so at 97801042

Cheers

Hi bro.

Is either the ballast gone or the light tube gone....

You can try to interchange the T5 light tube to confirm..

Tank : 3 x 2 x 1.8 ( setup end Feb 2014 ) --> 4 x 2 x 1.8 ( setup early Nov 2016 )
Skimmer : Bubble Magus NAC6 --> Bubble Magus Curve 7
Return pump : Jebao 10000l/h ( down in 17th December 2014 ) --> Jebao DC-12000 ( 19th December 2014 )
Compressor drop-in coil
Wavemaker : Tunze 6105 x 1
Lights : Modular based DIY LED light x 4

I think it is the ballast - the swap the tube and it is working.

Quite a waste to throw away because it is still very new. That is why I plan to fix it

Many thanks for replying

If is the ballast, you may need to check whether the ballast is dual channel or single channel.

If dual channel, you would need to replace the entire piece which is slightly more expensive than single channel.

You can either try to DIY to repair the light by replacing the ballast , tube holder or the wiring.. Since these are the only components in the lighting, if you send it for repair it might cost more than buying a new set. Hope it helps :)
