I decided to investigate the air quality in the cabinet after some bros reminded that it may be too hot when cabinet is closed. I considered placing the compressor outside but that included major reno cos wifey said no trunking in the house after our major renovation 2 years ago. so it was either in the cabinet or nothing at all.

Luckily the compressor isnt very warm when working and much more quiet than the old chiller I had. no complaints so far.

2 x radion lights are on from 3pm ~ 1am reachin full light spectrum by 6pm ~ 10pm. I figured this period will be the peak temperature to measure.

Chiller kicks in every 2hours for 15 ~ 20 mins. the water temperature is set between 25 ~ 26 degrees celcius.

temperature in cabinet:

peak temperature when chiller turns off : 38 degrees

after 15mins, temperature drops to: 32degrees.

after 1 hour, temperature drops to 29 degrees and hovers..

can any bros advise what is the ideal temperature inside the cabinet? the above considered hot?

any rise in temperature in the tank would already lead to issues like

- increased evaporation

- heating up the water, thus the condenser may have to kick in slightly more then compared to if it was placed somewhere else

- can't store certain items that requires the 'cool dry place' in the cabinet

i believe other bros have mentioned a few others. i personally wouldn't be happy if my cabinet was at 38 degrees, room temperature would be my ideal. but seeing your constrains it seems quite hard for you to work around this problem. active cooling within the cabinet perhaps?

Not sure if this works...installing a clip-on fan or computer fan inside the cabinet to blow out the hot air (for cool air to enter)...and have the plug on a timer (programme to on in the day which is warmer)? Or connect the plug together with the chiller temp controller so that when the chiller is activated to kick in, the fan will be on at the same time; when the chiller is off, the fan follows?

will the salt spray in yr sump will corrode yr compressor? or is there partition?

i would think it will corrode the fins of the compressor

compressor in the first compartment (extreme left) while sump in the 3rd compartment (extreme right). in the middle got dosing pump containers..

no partition in the cabinets. is salt spray still possible? how to test?

thanks for advise bro.

I love the idea of the QT section.

Can you PM me the cost of the whole cabinet with tank?

How come it is not using black silicon?

after my first change of NSW on 31st dec (8 jerry cans in total and nearly died)..

spent the rest of the day setting up phosphate, carbon reactor, dosing pump and tidy up the cables.

cant seem to find anti slam hinges though.. any recommendation bros?

can call victor from iwarna for the price at 92259393 cos i got a bundle price including setup, equipment, compressor and disposal of old tank etc.

honestly, back silicon didnt cross my mind. mainly cos my interior is mostly white, tank cabinet is white.. and most importantly, I wanted uninterrupted maximum viewing area. wanted tank to match my interior.
