For new reef tank this is expensive?

Hi all Reefers i going to Customize a new reef tank was this price expenvise??? For Tank L-3ft W-2.5 ft by 55cm height . 3 sides 12 mm crystal. Waterproof Chengnai wood frame cabinet with choice of laminate. Customized sump. $1980.

i've got mine done a week ago, 3ft L x 2.5ft W x 2ft H, 12mm thk glass with front and one side crystal glass and a 2ft L x 1.5ft W x 1.5ft H sump, 6mm thk for less than S$600 inclusive of delivery. That is without the cabinet though.

The worry about the crystal glass negative commance on USA reef forum and sec worry in early the guy give $900 is only based on their design and 10mm normal glass 3ft 2.2ft tank include chengnai wood for cabinet. 2.5ft 3 compartment sump.I asked him what have add the price how come so big jump? He propose crystal glass and How much the cost ? And what kind of sump he give me but he never reply me so far. All I wanted to have good reef tank for my hobbies.

do note that 6mm glass may not be strong enough for marine tank.

do note that 6mm glass may not be strong enough for marine tank.

6mm is for my sump and main tank is 12mm... i usually opt for 8mm thk for sump but i have looked through the design of this sump and 6mm is enough to hold this.

IMO, i think it's too expensive for just a 3 ft tank. Why not get a few more quotes and compare? Can start from our some of our sponsors here.
