Need advice for fixing light to false ceiling

Planning to hang light fixture on false ceiling. Anyone try tat? Wat is the name of the kit? I know for wall u get the wall plugs... But for false ceiling have no idea.

for false ceiling i think they will need to cut a hole, insert a wooden plank to reinforce before you can mount the lighting.

If the lighting is not too heavy, you can use butterfly plug to hold it. Can get from any hardware shop.

Looks like drilling on concrete is the safest.

drilling is one thing and the mount need to hoist the lights up if required maintenance another. If its fixed at certain height than ok. I have always wanted this " motorized light lifter" but should be ex if can get locally.

using butterfly plugs on false ceiling is not a sure bet -- gypsum ceiling is made of soft material and chances of giving way on a heavy load is very high. Ketchup is right - reinforcing it with timber internally is the solution.

I was contemplating a similar setup as well. You should get a reliable handyman to reinforce your false ceiling and hang your fixture. Eventually settled for custom built brackets mounted at the back of my tank as there was minimal drilling, and in my unqualified opinion, more secure than mounting on false ceiling.

I'm in this line previously.

Drilling fixing climbing over air con deck etc.

Drilling , hooking is my piece of cake.

Trust me, butterfly will confirm give way to hang the light fixture on a false ceiling.

Insert a timber as what other said.

Or mount a L backet on the concrete wall ..

If the light set is light? The radion is 5kg on paper spec. So i guess it is light compare to mh.

I've found the nylon bolt plug. Is tat wat u call the butterfly?

So inserting a timber is actually the timber doing the support? The gypsum bd hole will collapse over time?

i think by inserting the timber it acts as a support and weight distribution. the false ceiling itself is supported by some metal frames internally so the timber is sitting on it instead of the false ceiling. if you drill directly on the false ceiling board,abit risky. you wouldn't want an expensive lighting inside the water when you go back.

Once the whole plug insert, the split end will open and hold inside. This is good for hold on the side wall and not ceiling. Coz CG is directly down. The hole side is soft and might give way.

Even it will not drop, but your plug will be slightly been pull down .
