My red gonioporas - been with me for almost 2 years.

Red gonioporas are fairly common and a variety of the goniopora species have red variations. I have three (one of which is not in my pics) of which they are Goniopora stutchburyi, Goniopora burgosi and Goniopora palmensis.

The more common green type is Goniopora stokesi which is far more difficult to cultivate in a captive system compared to other species.

On a side note, half of my zoanthids were wiped out by an unknown predator (I suspect it was a black crab which I caught with a plastic bottle trap). Pretty upset about that incident and I proceeded to sell or give away most of my remaining zoas. Now I only have a few tiny patches of zoas left in my tank.

I proceeded to fill some of the empty space left by my zoas with a few chalices hence they have become a new found love for me
