SRC Member tropic Posted July 8, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted July 8, 2012 Won't I have to pull trunking all the way? I afraid if you gona place the compressor outside the house eg, balcony then you will have to run trunking. If beside the tank then can concealed around the tank area. SRC Member LittleBurger Posted July 8, 2012 Author SRC Member Share Posted July 8, 2012 Won't I have to pull trunking all the way? depends on far u put yr compressor. there's a distance limitation too. put trunking looks nicer than the black insulation exposing. So if the tank is near or next to service balcony then the trunking will be short. I read that people convert those window unit too, 5000btu Quote Tank size:36"x36"x24" Return pump" 2x Reef Octo 5000 Skimmer:BK Double Cone 200 on Reef Octopus DC 5500s. SRC Member BFG Posted July 8, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted July 8, 2012 What's the pros of compressor? My aquarium chiller, Resun CL650 literally blew up in the middle of the night, spraying refrigerant all over the floor. Lost a lot of coral as my spare chiller was only 1/10hp. Bought the compressor and never looked back. Took approximate 23 minute to bring temperature down from 27 degree celsius to 26 degree celsius using Eheim 1260 as return pump. Compressor rest for 2hr 20 minute. If it rains, compressor will rest for 3hr or more.
Terryz_
Hi terryz, the auto food reactor is liquid food? how much is the cost? the dosing unit big? I'm feeding my fans using sprayed dry food. just added a purple sea fan or rod. need to see how it response to its location. It is just like a modded denitrator with a aqualifter, dosing 24/7 or can set on timer to dose at specific timing.. cost is very variable the aqualifter is 18 and for the old denitrator depends if you can get a cheap one such as dymax cr or denitrator.. basically it is for the food to be in suspension in the reactor, and dosed periodically.. so just mix the food and freeze them and drop it into the reactor and let.it dose.... lol.. It will be used up in a few hours if it is 24/7 dosing. Normally I will just mix enough for the day and drop it in. It takes bit of trial and error ito get the actual dosing amount.. cleaning the reactor is just a magnet cleaner. Lol. No need to open and a weekly cleaning using sponge also can..
