Flow rate for fish tank

Hi I have upgraded to a 4.5ft by 2ft by 2.5ft tank (approx 140 gallons in display),

My current return rate is 5000l/h with and I have a wavemaker that does 5000l/h as well.

Was just wondering if this water movement rate is enough as I do see quite a few spots which are relatively "dirty" and I have adjusted the position of the wavemaker a few times.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes, turn over rate should be sufficient. "Dirt" will require some periodic manual cleaning unless you have a few strategically placed wavemakers to eliminate dead spots. It'll be a little tricky if you have fine sand. BTW, if you're referring to left over fish food, some clean up crew can help deal with this problem too.

Kohwhl,

Suggest getting another powerhead (koralia) and position it on the opposite site of the tank.

You can aim both of them towards the surface and diagonally from each other..

That should create random currents enough for hardy corals to survive..

Alternatively, post a picture of your tank and we will be able to help further!

Hope that helps..
