Clement_jr
hi all, the picture shown is the inlet of the skimmer. and right below it, is a hole (light brown). what is that for? water kept coming out while running. and, the small cup with the blue sponge attached which i believe is e air inlet. does it connect to something? PS: my friend gave me this, he never used before, so he can't help either. hope some skimmer guru can assist ! thanks!! CFOh
join follow the yellow line, try again.. Cheers. You can control your air take pressure by adjust the valve... Pls refer the circle in yellow.. The yellow line direction in the circle indicate off air intake position.Probably off your air intake to observed how the skimmer works first.. after that on the valve slowly, you shld see bubble building up in the skimmer body.. Clement_jr
i actually tried that approach. ie. attaching the tube to the valve, which is drawn by the yellow arrows. However, instead of sucking air in, the water came out from the brown valve and is drawn to the air inlet and overflowing from there. Is possible snap some pics or video on your Beckett setup in your tank? Probably check your water level. Check any debris seize in Beckett Venturi... Cheers.. Clement_jr
i just fix it up this morning. but it isnt skimming >_< I think the tricky part is the air inlet and the 'unexpected brown valve'. I checked some pics online. they did just like you guys suggested. but the water will gush out from the brown valve instead. i suppose the i got the connection wrong somewhere, which i dont know. I've taken it out and check on the beckett inlet, and see how it goes from there. Shld be fine, my friend facing the same problem as you long ago. That is the reason I asking Is your skimmer skimming? Any flow in the body? If not most likely assembly issue... Cheers.. Clement_jr
cool, thanks mate. now. i tired leaving the air inlet fully open, the bubbles are very very aggressive. and i also tired having it half open. the bubbles are still pretty fine, massive of them, but not aggressive. which is recommended? Another question being, the water level seems unpredictable. Having not adjusting the outlet, the water level is still affected by the level of water in the sump. Can this be stabilized? Try Google Wet Skimming or Dry Skimming topic.. Shld able to get more ideas.. I prefer more bubble (dry skim) for your case the skimming is more effective cause pump to skimmer is near and less headloss. In general, Water level shld be able stabilize after running set..
