blue tang scratching itself?

my blue tang keeps rubbing itself against my live rocks....

i have seen my cinnamon clownfish and yellow tang doing it but not that often....

my blue tang rubs it self against the gravel as well....

any ideal why?

Did u recently add any new fish to your tank, any white or black spot on the fish it could be ich.

It was the latest addition to my tank....when I bought it it was in good condition...it may just have a little white spots in it...but I feed it with garlic guard...also after I do water changes the white spots seem to disappear....it comes back after awhile....one and off

It is due to ich that your fish is rubbing agianst the rocks, it can be due to recent change in water quality or the fish already come with it when you bought it. You can improve the water quality or by either medicate the fish or leave it to battle it out . Some suggest that by feeding it with fish food soaked with Gallic will helps as well.

or u can get a cleaner shrimp to help it out as well.

i soak my deep freeze krill in garlic before feeding them...

i have bought a bottle of ich medication and put my blue tang in a pail to treat it...

how long does it have to stay in there and dosing requirements?

Neither Cleaner shrimp, cleaner goby or cleaner wrasse will not help in removing ich from the fishes..

i tried putting my blue tang in fresh water for 1-2 minutes to get rid of the ich...i noticed blackish bluish liquid coming out from its gills...any idea what that is?

if it is eating better just leave it in the main tank. moving to another tank will just stress it more.

mine is still eating like a pig so i leave it alone. i noticed the ich only comes out in the morning
