After placing the order and shopped for more "toys", got a call from tank maker... "ready for viewing".. so went to take a look, as it's nearby my place, decided to take a short drive down to eunos.

As I understand, not many shops entertain such "preview"...

Found out that some minor errors during the review... so changes were made on the spot. Prevented a potential ugly scene after delivery.

Spotted the diff? Sump couldn't fit... thus need to adjust the rear beam.

More preview...

Cut out at the top of overflow box. For better ventilation and easy access to external overflow.

The equally important sump... no modifications needed..

It has been a while since I had time to browse the forums and post...I remember we started our tanks around the same time, in fact mine began earlier than yours but now...your tank is so much more amazing!!! you really gotta impart your skills to me bro

Anyway, looking back at how things started, I really see the importance of a good tank maker, and it is invaluable that you had the oportunity to preview yours before delivery! I had requested to view mine before it was deliverd but could not, and ended up with with a couple of specifications that were not met...nothing show stopping but you know, after all the planning you kinda want things as close to perfect as possible. Just gonna treat this as one of those life lessons learnt! So two thumbs up to your tank maker and his great service!!! :thumbsup:

Yo Paul... you are always welcome to visit and view the tank in person. This hobby is most enjoyed when we get together and learn from each other.

For tank maker, I'm just lucky to find a good one. But I agree, it's always better to preview a customized tank before delivery. If not, if the maker can make alterations foc after delivery... that's also good, though it'll delay the setup time.

I'll try to share as much as I know, given that I've benefitted a lot from forum and thru friends made here!

so much changes since i visited, btw, you mentioned the overflow is top bottom concept. from the pictures, seems like an external overflow from the top only. or did i missed something? :>

Also my past experience with bottom flow is that it gets clogged up over time.. algae growth, messy stuff.. how its with yours now? still able to suck up detritus?

The under flow is there, I didn't really take a good picture of it. It still siphons out detritus, so far, no clogging issues yet. Will keep on monitoring.

This tri-colour valida is an extremely aggressive piece. It will run over almost anything to grow.

Once stabilised, it is a gem to behold.

Another beautiful piece, it's placed it a slightly shaded area, but the red/pink colours are slowly coming out... am happy with the growth rate.

Purple Digi - ultra deep purple colouration and once stable, grows fast...

Similarly, the baby frag of tri-colour valida is also growing out.

Bad mistake though, placed them too close to each other.
