I was about to purchase a Haliea 6550 or 6540 when I was told by the store owner that it CANNOT be used externally... this is contary to what is being labelled on the box...

Can someone help me clear this up ASAP? Need to get a stronger pump for my return, the current one cannot make it...

Thanks!!

Yes you can... Just open up the suction and where the inlet to the pump is, connect the connector provided to the pump and then your hose to it.. Same goes for the discharge... Then ensure that all your piping has water as you do not want the pump to run dry... Then.. start it up.. It should work fine...

previously had a problem same as urs. some experts told me u can but Hailea tends to break down very easily when out of water.

eheim is OK and so far the only brand in singapore that works still OK outside water.

Actually you can also consider aqua medic's ocean runners pumps. they have 6500l/h, 3500l/h, 2500l/h and also 1200l/h.

I think price starts from $430,$295 and $195. smallest one don't know price.

They consume lesser power then Hailea

but they cost A LOT more!... but perhaps the savings in electrical bills will pay off
