over head filter...2 outflow?????

Recommended Posts

i am using a dolphin over head filter for my 2feet x 1 feet x 1.5 feet tank, about 18.5 gallons.

while just browsing through other people's tank picture i noticed that there are 2 outlets and 1 inflow. the inflow is obviously to suck in the water and 1 of the outflow goes to the overhead filter.

however the 2nd out flow has an air tube attached to it which i hang out of the water. when i put my hand in front of the 2nd output i can feel a current. is that good? or wrong? my nemos tend to get swept away by it....

and also i did not fix any parts to that 2nd outflow...the package came with a few other spare parts for it but the uncle said it was redundant....help?????

Cant help with ur filter but regarding Usage of filters for marine tank, its more abt worrying that ur bio filter will become a nitrate factory as debris are all collected at that point. I personally feel that as long u rmb to clean and maintain the filter regularly, it shld be fine using a filter... Hope i've helped...:)

Fresh fishes and inverts! What's next? To the salty side of marine of course!:)
