SRC Member penyu Posted January 10, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted January 10, 2004 I think my fishes are suffering with itch. I can see a few white dots on the fishes and they keep hitting themselves on the rocks. I read that I can use garlic juice to solve the problem. I know that I am supposed to pour the garlic juice into the tank water to cure them and also to mix their food with the juice once a week to prevent them from suffering with the illness again. How much am I suppose to pour the juice in the tank? My tank is approximately 5 gallons.
SRC Member flubberina13 Posted January 10, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted January 10, 2004 5 gallons? That is very small... Maybe your fish kanna ich due to lack of space. try upgrading to a bigger tank. Moreover, pls list the fish you have to enable more 'spot-on' remedies and suggestions... For garlic xtreme, you can drop a drop to two in water. For garlic guard, three to five drops preferable for the size of your tank. try to soak the food overnight with two drops of garlic juice. That also depends on your food portion but I reckon the food is not much as yours is a 5gallon tank. Basically, garlic helps to boost your fish's immune system and if it continue to stay in this tank, the former wouldn't help much in the long run. All the best... SRC Member SpiderOne Posted January 11, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted January 11, 2004 ??? I really dun think u are supposed to pour the garlic juice into your tank.. open invitation for many problems if done incorrectly.( why risk it ). just soak your food with it.. and throw feed it to the fish
SRC Member blacknails Posted January 11, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted January 11, 2004 think 5 gallon tank is not even 2ft tank rite, how to keep marine fishes there? Yeah a 5 gallon is like 3 times smaller than a 2 ft tank but trust me it can be done... I've kept marine creatures in a 5 gallon before and they remained allive for a long long time before I decided that 4 tanks in my house is too much for me and gave up caring for my smallest 5 gal tank... SRC Member penyu Posted January 11, 2004 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 11, 2004 My tank is actually 1.5 feet. Maybe I estimated the number of gallons wrongly. Anyway, there are 3 fishes in the tank. One clarki clown and two damsels.
