One of my favourite fish.... Rock Beauty....

Wasn't feeding when I bought it but has managed to weaned it to frozen food....

Trying to move him to pellets now.

yeah... really nice.

I think smaller species are much nicer as they have more yellow than black. There is also a luminous blue ring around the eye. For adult Rock Beauty, the black patch covers majority of the body so it looks a little more drab but the fin has an orangy tinge.

Rock Beauty average price is 15 reds.

My Venustus.... aka Half moon....

has established himself in the tank.

He swims to the surface to take pellets and chases away other fishes that gets in his way....

Some new additions.... I often have pellets on the tank bottom.

Got a huge blood shrimp (3 inch) - as large as my PBT to be the tank scavenger for leftover food.

the only problem.... mine is a BB and he has problem moving around on the tank floor ... :P

bought a sunburst as well. Not an easy fish. extremely suicidal.

I introduce it into the tank and he has been lying on the tank bottom like this for the past 3 days.

When I bought him, the fins were all dark blue.

Now you can see the tip of fins are starting to turn yellow.....

will be interesting to see the him morph to adult.

I had an emperor once that took about 2.5 yrs to morph.

Let's see how this fella transitions.
