Any bro/sis can share your experience with filter bags?

What micron is more effective ?

How do you clean it and how often?

If I use it in my IOS, I can only place it where the overflow is but then will the length of the bag be a concern since it can only be laid flat on the cotton wool that I'm currently using.

Filter sock is typically designed for sump use where overflow piping feeds directly into the round sock opening. Modifying it for IOS tank use is not easy.

You need not use filter wool once you have filter sock.
