Clean & Simple

It's been many years since i started reefing not to mention Tanganyika tanks. So I thought I would like to share my journey of my 4th reef tank. The last and current was a SPS reef. Over the years, I tried nearly all types of lighting from halides to LED and decided to settle for a complete T5, rimless set. Due to my work, family and age(back problem)& family, the latest set set is designed with minimum maintenance as possible. Low tank & cabinet profile facilitate easy Bi-weekly water and CR reactor without having to too much carrying of heavy containers. Here's the tank at 6 weeks old... Set-up & all hardware from Victor & CR from Joe P.

Yesterday was exactly the 2rd month mark since I stock up the SPS. So far I was lucky and had a Fiji colony STN, so I broke the colony.. The surviving 2 pcs are on the left of the close-up reflection shot. Sorry about my crappy photo-skill.

Stocking only with small fishes. max. 2 inches, except Pipefish, and I would keep it that way to keep nutrient low.

1. 2 spot blenny x 1

2. tail spot blenny x 1

2. Singapore angel x 1

3. Sharpadi x flame angel x1

4. Orchid Dottyback (JP) x1

5. Ghost pipe fish x 2

6. Royal gamma x 1

7. Tomini tang x 1

I like it, nice and neat!

Beautiful reef tank!

 fall in love wit ur tank bro.... 

Thank you for your kind comments. The reef is still very young but I'm glad that coral improvements are showing. Trying to discipline myself from over-stocking livestocks though. Always reminding myself minimum maintenance.

Cool idea, simple and practical. I assume that it is secured to the back of the cabinet?

Actually, not. It has 2 'leg' extension below the cabinet. So it kind of permanent there unless I tear down the tank. But since it a rimless & I never want to use wall bracket on ceiling mount I ok with it.

Really nice tank. One of the best i saw latley...

Your whole setup and idea about it is superb, IMHO.

I wonder how is that Singapore angel behaving toward all those lovley SPS?!

Why didn't you go with Balling if you wanted low maintinence?

Thanx

This is a deliberate arrangement. So that I will not buy, buy and buy...fear.gif Lots of water motion also, excuse not to stock LPS. Hopefully...pinch.gif

That's a very good excuse.. Maybe then can have ideas to upgrade or have 1 more tank... Hee hee

ThanxSmiley.gifThe angel is not the ideal reef fish but a good 99% in my standard. It pecks on the birdnest but nothing serious to affecting PE. Initial plan was to go balling but due to lack

of space for the 3x 20 liter containers, the CR is the other alternative.
