Coraline Sand

hi, my sandbed is avergaing about 1-1.5 inches. although the top surface is generally clean and still white, i noticed some areas under are starting to turn to this :

should i get alarmed ? thanks

Looks more like cyano.... Be ready to put on full battle gear bro.

I have some of these purplish (and some very dark purple) patches growing on my LR. Is this coraline algae or cyano? How do I tell?

Hey Keith, coraline are hard....Whereas Cyano is just a thin film. It can be brushed away with a toothbrush . Yours should be coraline.

yo jacky, 2 pills of what ? amox ? if that's what's really needed, i do have amox. but how to use that ? won't harm LS ? yeah i start to notice other areas also under the sand start to look like this. but why all under only ? i don't see any on the surface ?

well, it still is a couple's tank, so if VIA gra will help ....

anyway, how to prepare and use the amox ? and it can make it's way under the sand ?
