I'm using distilled water and phosphate is 0 but the portion of liverock around middle water column, nearest to the light have brown stuff like diatom spreading. My return flows are definitely moving water at that portion .... how come still cannot avoid ..appear after cycling for 6 weeks

how old is your tank? usually is new tank symdrome. mine still appear for 2-3 mths after cycling. cannot siam 1....if it's nt due to new tank syndrome, you shd check ur PO4 n lighting. running a FR wif rowas, increase flow, get cleaning crews such as big turbo snails, chaeto, reduce ur lighting hours etc will help,

my 2 cents
