SRC Member ervine Posted February 7, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted February 7, 2004 Eh not really.. I'm using 250W on a 2.5x15ft without chiller, so far corals and fishes still okay... but take heed my fan is a table fan, not those small clips ones... and my MH is ventilated (i.e. not a hood) Using a 250W MH without a chiller and just a table fan, what temperature are you getting? Oh forgot to mention, temp hovers below 29... without MH on 27+, with MH 28+.... so far I've not seen it hit 29...

SRC Member ryz Posted February 7, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted February 7, 2004 my 150W is just 3 inches from the water surface. Using two fans but both half side blocked so equivalent to using one fan. And the fan is 10 inches above water level in sump. Temperature still maintain at 27. I think you mean tap water?? oh and ryan, with aircon mine also go down to 24.. haha without is around 27. now I move the fan to about 2 inches from the water surface liao. think will be better. But I only use one cause think 2 fans will cause lotsa evaporation. Quote Live and Let Live
