Eh not really.. I'm using 250W on a 2.5x15ft without chiller, so far corals and fishes still okay... but take heed my fan is a table fan, not those small clips ones... and my MH is ventilated (i.e. not a hood)

Using a 250W MH without a chiller and just a table fan, what temperature are you getting?

Oh forgot to mention, temp hovers below 29... without MH on 27+, with MH 28+.... so far I've not seen it hit 29...

my 150W is just 3 inches from the water surface. Using two fans but both half side blocked so equivalent to using one fan. And the fan is 10 inches above water level in sump. Temperature still maintain at 27.

hey bro...

i'm usin 150w mh for my 3ft tank too...

but my sump/fuge is 81cm long...

main tank and fuge, height and width all 2ft by 2ft...

i guess its simillar to your tank only that my MH is not too close to the water like yours...

i'm currently using one AC fan and it brings my temp down to 26-27...

with air con on it can go down to 24...

heh! :eyebrow:

yeah just want to share...

:( toppin up wif saltwater causes high level of phostates.... n u noe..

alage grow...especially diatoms...

I think you mean tap water??

oh and ryan, with aircon mine also go down to 24.. haha without is around 27. now I move the fan to about 2 inches from the water surface liao. think will be better. But I only use one cause think 2 fans will cause lotsa evaporation.
