If im not mistaken its caused by high nutrients... Can try red slime removal... Forgot the brand but aquamarin has it...:)

Fresh fishes and inverts! What's next? To the salty side of marine of course!:)

Yap that red slime algae alright. You seem to have extra food for your bac in the tank and being consumed by this cyno bac. So reduce them if you feed bac in your tank either by dosing carbon, zeovite additives or other form of bac feeding (bio pallet) etc

I hav been battling them all the while in my DSB refuge. Reduce or stop totally carbon dosing will help in my case.

Cheers

Well done, you do have good water condition, welcome to the world of vodka dosing. You may reduce or stop totally if situation detorirated. for this week. Good advise from hotsoup, NSW from lfs have die off bac. depend on how they keep it. Light do encourage them grow, but in my experience 3days shut off light and then re-expose back to normal lighting may coz photo shock to your SPS (RTN). Be careful then. Continue with last regime dose of vodka after a week reduce or stop, if you find thing settled. Am in the midst of replacing vodka dosing with biopallet to prevent guessing work. Now slowly it taking place but cyno inevitable but I balance out with dosing more good bacteria.

Good luck.

I got it about 3 months ago.

Now under control.

All these while my salifert PO4 test read zero.

But if you use Hanna tester it read around 0.8
