Yes some species are deep sea but it seems like this specific species does live in shalower waters as long as there are caves and overhangs enough in your system to hide in. Cherlolo Posted August 30, 2012 Share Posted August 30, 2012 A friend of mine bought one to try and when the lights are turned on, it was blinded by it and kept swimming against the tank, darting around. Terryz_ Posted August 31, 2012 Share Posted August 31, 2012 With the right environment, they feed quite easily.. but sustaining the bioluminous bacteria is the hard part.. I believe the part which lit up helps the fishes to get food at night and in the dark.. as mine always shine and flicker very brightly when they are feeding... but becos mine is a community tank though it is dimly lit, they still cannot make it long under community.
