HI

Need some help

I am going to let a chiller chill my Dymax iq5

The power head compartment of Dymax iq 5 is very small

The best pump i can put in there is the tunze Universal Mini Pump

I can do a dry mounting by getting a pump like Aquabee 300l/h

COmparing Tunze and Aquabee both 300l/h

Tunze power: 5W

Auqabee: 4W

My chiller is Hailea HC150 - Minimum flow rate is 250l/h

Can somebody kindly let me know if both these pump can be sufficient for the chiller?

If yes which would you recommend

Thanks

My personal opinion is that it's overkill for your IQ5 which is only about 13L.. why don't you get an iceprobe instead? look at link below. If I recall Petmart @ Serangoon sold it the last time I enquired about the iceprobe.

unless of course your intention is to upgrade soon from an IQ5 to a bigger setup. HAH

Agree, this is super overkill

I had a Icepropbe for my IQ3 in the past for shrimps. Really good for this purpose. I am sure IQ5 can use with no problem

2 Feet Tank: (Decom Feb 2015)
-Lightings : Pharos LED light 90W with wireless controller
-Chiller : Arctica 1/10HP with H2Ocean Flow Pump 2000

-Wavemaker : Vortech MP10ES
-Skimmer : Bubble Magus NAC 3.5

-Return Pump : Eheim Compact 3000
-Reactor – TLF150 (Mod) with NP Biopellet
-Reactor – TLF150 with Rowaphos

Haha

Yes yes Agree its an Overkill, the chiller is bigger than my tank :)

The Chiller i have is actually for a bigger setup, still in the midst of setup and the chiller is still sleeping doing nothing

Just need to hook it up to my Dymax iq5 for now due to the fact i am going to be away for 2 days and with fan the water will evaporate and i have nobody to top up my water

So thats why planning to hook it up with ther chiller

Ice probe is good but dont want to spend on it for this purpose

Do advice :)

THanks for the Info

So will Aquabee 300l/h sufficient?

or i should go for a much stronger pump? if yes what l/h i tried on a 400l/h Atman the chiller worked fine

I am also worried if the pump is too strong will it effect my iq5

Need Advice

However i have a new problem now

I bought a Hydor Seltz l20 700l/h

I was told that i can use this pump Dry

pump works well wet, but when i convert it for Dry use the water is not being sucked in

If i sink the whole pump in and take it out it works, but i cant do this in the Dymax Iq5 back chamber

Please help, how can i get the pump to suck the water to continue the flow
