3 small pieces kole tangs spotted at CF.

It was day 14 before my PBT decided to eat and of all things....pellets! But nothing else. Strange eh? However, both PBTs have itch although both are eating normally. The smaller one is gaining weight while the larger and finally eating one has a full figure. Funny thing is the itch seems to disappear by noon the next day and they stay relatively itch free till evening time when the itch returns and they spot a "salted" look. This cycle repeats itself daily without fail. When, if at all, will they finally gain immunity? A few weeks? My DT now has (for tangs) 2 PBT, 1 Tomini, 1 mimic, 1 eye spot and 1 horse shoe. The new additions mimic, eye spot and horse shoe also have a few spots in the evenings but are otherwise feeding normally. Hope they all gain immunity eventually. Am keeping up with weekly WC to keep water quality high and feeding a variety of fresh and seaweed. Hope things turn out alright...

Look at TS 2nd pic and Lemon's pic 2 posts after his post of the BT. You will see that both pics have a perforated circular grating used typically by stockists for overflow or drainage. They are identical and I have not seen these for sale anywhere in Singapore hardware/DIY/plumbing shops before. Has anyone? The fish in TS posts are of an unusual concentration for a DT. More like a stockist's tank and looking at the water level, it seems quite shallow to be a DT. Unless the owner of the fish in Sentosa Cove keeps them in a holding/QT tank before transferring them to the DT or catches out all the fish during maintenance which is highly unlikely. Maybe decomming? The blue painted tank looks like a professional setup and is definitely not a DT...

It is day no. 8. The PBT, now in my main tank is only grazing on life rock. Not eating anything else. Not eating even frozen cyclopeeze or live brine shrimp. I even introduced a smaller, pellet-eating PBT and tomini tang to inspire it but still no success. I am still hopeful since it is grazing on live rock.

Any bro has a 3 - 4 inch specimen to let go?

Remember that a full blown sps tank with gorgeous colours can only be realized if lightly stocked with reef safe fishes. You can't really have the best of both worlds. Choose wisely.... "...Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny" - Yoda

Bro, In my humble opinion, your tank looked a little overstocked. With all these large heavy polluting tangs plus numerous other small fish, you might have a real problem keeping water quality high in a long run. You might want to consider keeping only your favourite "must have" fishes and at a smaller size. The water volume in our tanks are really only small bodies of water in a closed system. Partial water changes can also only do so much. QT of fish also only works provided your DT is not already infected. The slightest stress (aggression from other established fish)on a new fish (especially a tang) will almost certainly cause an ich infection which could rapidly spiral out of control in an overcrowded tank under less than pristine conditions. Just my two cents

A proper quarantine takes 6 weeks. Who has that kind of time to add one fish only after every six weeks. Not to mention every new live rock or coral added needs 6 weeks each too. Its just not very practical...
