I got 1 turbo snail in my 1 ft nano tank who is very hardworking! Basically, u can see it climbing everywhere to look for algae to feed on. Hwever, got 1 problem! I notice tat my tank is covered by the turbo snail tracks, in another word the stain/ saliva of the turbo snail! I tried 2 remove it using a sponge but it's very difficult to remove. Anyone oso encounter tis problem? Any suggestion on hw 2 remove the stain effectively from the tank?

I dose my 1ft nano tank with Reef complete & trace twice a wk! Find out fr the forum tat a lot pple is dosing their tank with kalk in order 2 maintain the pH & calcium level (correct me if I'm wrong). I will like to kw whether is it necessary to dose a 1 ft nano tank with kalk?

Can advise hw 2 remove it? Use a brush to scrub?

Paiseh, nd 2 borrow yr thread 2 ask smthing abt sponge! Instead of turning white 2 indicate tat the sponge is dying, wht if it turn dark brown? I have no ideal why my orange sponge turn into dark brown on one side & remain orange at the opposite side?

Notice tat there is always a lot of dirts everywhere in my tank once the turbo snail have made its trip there! Does it poo a lot?

Maybe can try those small puffer fish selling at $1 - $1.50. But be careful cos puffer quite fierce, so may end up attacking yr fish oso! I got a lot of tetra whose tail kanna bitten off by the puffer! Nd 2 monitor for awhile when u introduce puffer and remove it fr the tank once the snail is gone cos when there no food lef ard, yr fishes gonna be it's target!

Wah.... so chim.... I thought that the ideal watt per gallon is ard 3 watt! So it depends on yr experience with the type of coral u intend 2 keep? Ten quite risky 2 invest in lighting since it hard to tell this way! sign.....

Is the total light intensity sufficient for your tank? I tried sm of the online calculator and it indicate that a 2X1X1ft tank easy require ard 150W! Dun kw hw reliable the online calculator is! Can anyone advice on hw to decide on the total amount of wattage required base on tank size?

They really kw hw 2 rubber here & there! They told me that they will bring in the stock in October but nw is already Dec liao! Same for the API tap water filter! Plaster of Paris is not that strong in terms of bonding as compared to expoxy! My company use the plaster of paris to secure our monitoring equipment on floor or asphalt but it will come off easily. Btw where you bought the epoxy which is marine safe? I saw the epoxy at aquarama 2003 selling at over $20!

Can anyone contribute by providing the average cost for each and individual items? Eg. Chiller: $600 - $1,500 Tank (4ft): $1,000 to $3,000 Reactor:...etc Need to more or less get a average gauge on the equipment, else blur blur go & buy & kanna con by the LFS; like the one at serangoon which is next 2 petmart! HEI DIAN!!! Wht really method is end of the day, the stuff I get is value for money and is worth the investment rather than letting the LFS telling you tat you need to buy this and tat and all the $$$$$$ will be like throwing into the sea......

I assume that yr new 6ft tank cost ard tis price! Well, I had initially work out smthing ard $5k 2 setup a reef tank but since I'm still new to tis hobby, need more time to do sm research and advise from expert out there to share with me their experience in reef keeping in order to minimize any unforeseen cost or death to the LS! Need to come out with sm budgeting system to figure out which equipment shd allocate more fund into! It's seems like the difficult part is to kw hw 2 run the piping, overflow system, filter or etc according to your preference or should I say base on experience which will yell optimal result! Any recommendation on when to get more information abt the phyical setup of the tanks?

I'm keen in setting up a reef tank which is between 4ft to 6ft and will like to have a round up idea of the average cost and equipment require. Therefore, I hope that members out there can share with us their tank specification and the average cost incurred as a guide for everyone who are interested to setup a reef tank. I understand that there is already an existing thread that indicate the type of equipment required and cost for each individual component. However, it will be more realistic to have those who had already had their tank setup to give a better reference. Hopes that this thread won't violate any rule set by SRC!

If I didn't remember wrongly, petmart do sell the pH controller which is ard $250! The brand is milkawue if I didn't spell it wrongly!

sign..... it seems like there is no hard rule abt tis cos some say can sm say cannot! Utimately, i think u shd try whtever way tat is suitable for u! Fr wht I kw, tap water contain nitrate & phosphate & sm other stuff! If the problem wif yr tank is nitrate, phosphate or etc, u may not 1 2 use tap water as top off! Jus my 2 cent of words! Correct me if I'm wrong!

Any recommendation? I dose my tank with seachem twice a week reef complete. Oso add the buffer ocassionally.

Err... Isn't it recommended to change water weekly instead of bi-weekly? Btw does matrix carbon remove nitrate? So far only heard that denitrate & matrix from seachem can remove nitrate!
