I intend to get a needle wheel skimmer and will like to place it outside the sump. If the placement of the skimmer is higher than the water level in the sump, will it affect the performance of the skimmer? Is there any way to work around this? Pls advise!

Is the chiller noisy?

Wht's yr tank specs in terms of volume, lighting and pump? I still can't decide whether to get 1/4 or 1/3 as most pple out there use 1/4 but the calculation from JBJ webpage states that I need to use 1/3HP!

Is 1/4HP sufficient for a 3ft cube tank?

Is 1/4 HP sufficient to cool down yr tank? I tried the JBJ webpage and my 3ft cube tank need at least 1/3HP!!

Juz chg my DI cartridge as the TDS reading hit 20ppm. While pouring out the resin, I notice 1/3 of the resin is still yellow, which means that it still can be use! Lesson learn, sccop up the black resin and refill with new one! That may save a bit on the usage of the resin!
