ML do not carry Arctica anymore!

My MH is abt 1ft abv the water surface. I got 7 anthias, 4 Clearner shrimp, 1 yellow-head goby, 1 red scooter, 1 lemon lip, 1 algae blenny, 1 mandrian, 2 turbo snail, 1 blue tang and 2 leopard wasse. Can help me identify this SPS? Got it from Irwana as I wanted to try out 1 1st b4 going full swing!

It's secure to my LR! Will strong lighting have an impact on why the poly is not extending? Till now, I'm not able to see the poly during lights on! How to tell if the SPS is dieing? 1) 2 X T5 = ON from 12.30pm to 11.30pm 2) 2 X T5 = ON from 1.30pm to 10.30pm 3) MH 400W 14K = ON from 3.30pm to 8.30pm 4) Sg = 1.025g/l 5) Mg = 1440ppm 6) Ca = 430ppm 7) NO3 = 0ppm 8) PH4 = 0 ppm 9) ORP = 200mv 10) Temp = 26 to 27.5 deg

What should be the ideal reading on Reodx/ ORP? In the even of higher or lower readings, how should we go about to raise/ lower it? Kindly advise!

I think if we set to lower temp in the day, it may end up kicking in more offer even though if we set the temp at nite to be higher! Overall may not really reduce the electrical bill/ kick-in time. Bro Gunzo, correct me if I'm wrong! When u set the max to be 0.5, does it mean that yr chiller will kick in whenever the temp is 0.5 deg higher than your ref. temp? Isn't it gonna kick-in more offer then setting it to 1-1.5 deg? As for the Density probe, does it mean it shd be place away from electrical devices such as pumps? Does it apply to Redox and PH too? I got rather low Redox reading in my tank at ard 200mv. How abt you?

Had read through the manual but seems like it's not possible to set the return pump to be on continously. I think something is missing smwhere as it shd be able to be use with continously "ON" mode for return pump! Else, how to use my water level sensor to control my return pump in the even of tank leak or overflow?

I think lighting plays a strong part in algae! For my tank, even though NO3 and PO4 is almost undectectable, I can still see algae forming on the tank walls and LR! Juz my 2 cents!

Time to chg to the Arctica Chiller!

Tried to fish out this fellow last week but miss! Fr then onwards, it's so smart as it will avoid my fishing bait and I even tried using those plastic bottles but failed! This fellow is so damn clever!

So you set your Temp diff to be 1.5 deg through out the whole day? I thought u set it to 1.5 deg diff during light on and 1 deg diff during nite time?

Yap! I think for my case, the last compartment where the return pump is place shd hv the lowest flow as compare to the middle section! Oni thing I'm not sure is when my Redox reading is so low: ard 200mv!

Is this the blenny scooter u r refering to? So cheap mah, $4 to $5?

So is it advisable to place the probe near the last compartment of the sump?

My Redox is ard 200mv which I think is anormal rite?

I tried sourcing for customize USB cable last wkend but seems like it's not common in the mkt! Pls keep us update if u manage to source for shorter USB cable!

Thks Bro Jervis! There's actually quite a number of reefers who hv a 3ft cube tank too! But for me, the downside is scaping and adding corals. Really gonna follow Tom Cruise from MI to make the impossible mission "Possible"!

Re-wiring? U mean to reorganize your existing cable or u did sm modification to the controller cables? I may try to cut the USB cable to a shorter length and re-solder it back cause I find it too long and difficult to manage! Meanwhile, I'm using those retracable USB cable to minimize the cable length! Faster setup leh, can't wait to see your setup!

Do you off your skimmer when using Marine Snow or other brands of food source?

Intending to keep low profile for a while till I hv enough $ for the next BIG thing! Tried to plug my return pump to the socket panel but can't seems to figure out on how to set it to "ON" continously. U hv any idea? Manage to fix up my second Temp probe yesterday and notice that there's a 0.02deg diff in both temp probe even though I place them in the same location. So I use the figure between this 2 temp probe and recalibrate it! U have any reliable temp sensor to help me with counter chking the temp? As for the Desnity probe, I still hv sm doubt in the reaading! Hoping smone can help me with the counter chking of the readings too!

Maybe the sensor is not that highly sensitive to minor salinity chg! After using the Desinty probe, I oso notice that my salinty is way too high compare to my hydrometer which have a diff of abt 0.002g/l. Will need to schedule for a water chg this weekend! Bro Jevis, may need to borrow your refractometer to double chk on my Desinty probe as till now, I'm still quite doubtful abt the reading!

I have a hard time calibrating the Density probe which takes me easily an hours! Not sure if the density probe works well as I notice my tank salinty didn't go down after my water top up! Strange! Did u dip the entire probe into the bottle of calibration fluid? That's how I do my calibration!
