as my main concern is my SPS... so therefore i posted it here... ive got a rather huge oyster in my SPS tank.... i think it is dying as the mantle is receding in... and the 'meat' is appearing smaller and smaller.... should i just leave it in the tank... and hope it is not dying but will recover eventually??? or should i take it out... and just let is die like that?

dude... juz my opinion... u intending to keep SPS??? if so... the MH would be a good investment... otherwise... i think it is really a waste of marnee.... LPS... t5 also enuff... somehow.. t5 is better... cheaper... more even light distribution... cheaper.... less heat... did i mention cheaper??? Power bill also cheaper.... i would use t5s if i can.... but my tank too deep... 3 feet..... so it is 400w MH for me.... and my mum is nagging at me monthly when the power bill arrives....

flooding is only advised (by me) if u have a good NNR system... or a good skimmer... a good way to feed corals would be target feeding.... a good way to feed fishes is switch off the powerheads and prob the return pump when u are feeding.... in this way... the food would not fly to places where u dun want them to.... prob a good idea to get some cleaner crew to eat the leftover food... scooter blennies is not bad a choice... or not.. some hermit crabs...

can check out a few recent threads regarding the cycle process.... dun really wish to repeat somethings.... best is still wait one month of cycling with nothing else in the tank... let yr pod population grow... and more importantly the bacteria on the LR.... i am now enjoying the fruits of a well-cycled system..... had not been stocking at my tank for about a year.... due to early mistakes.... now im sure my tank can handle almost anything i throw into it....
