Did my fair share of researching on SRC, RC, web.... also did my fair share of asking ard in LFSes.... If say... i got a big enough tank.... maybe a 12 footer... with good filteration... and good tank design.... think i can keep some sharks?? maybe black tips... the common bamboo shark.... there is this koi pond that is like 3 metres deep.... and prob a rough surface area of 3 metre cube?? would that be enuff??? this koi pond's filteration system holds about the same water volume as the pond itself.... playing ard with ideas for next marine project.....

when u change water.... u take out some of the old water... with the NO3s..... so say... before u change water NO3 is 20 ppm.... then after u change water,... it becomes 5 ppl...... geddit??? *koks head for the never ending thread post*

my royal gamma is fishy... purple firefish 1 is fishy... purple firefish 2 is fishy too.... purple firefish 3 is... guess what..... you got that right!! mantis is not likely to cause broken fins/tails.... they always aim at the body of the fish... unlikely to miss.... i kept mantis before.. and i fed them 1 dollar damsels... thats why i know.... unless yr fish is super fast... the Incredibles boy lidat.... then maybe.... kena fin only... broken fins/tails.... proberly some other fish ka chiao..... maybe u observe yr tank abit after lights off.... maybe a good 30 mins to 1 hour to see properly....

the only trap for a mantis.... take out the LR u consperm... i mean confirm that the mantis is in.... flush the rock with FW untill the mantis comes out.... or soak the rock in a pail of water untill the mantis comes out.... dun think the coke bottle or chicken essence method will work as mantis can swim unlike yr crabs....

I just throwing this topic off my head... just as gouldin respect this marine aquaria hobby of taking the trouble to know the scientific name of the fishes... i also have my form of respect to this marine aquaria hobby.... no matter how nice or how worth it the fish is.... i always take the extra trouble, time and risk(of the fish being bought by someone else..) i will never ever buy the fish.... if.... 1) i don't know the fish name... 2) i don't know the requirements of keeping this fish... 3) Eating habits... 4) behaviour of fish.... I will ask the LFS people... "uncle/brother/miss... what is the name of this fish... what it eats..." i will usually ask so much.... but in the end... i still don't buy..... I will go home and find out more about the fish.... think about the price.... my budget.... worth it to get the fish..... think of a thousand and one reasons why i should get the fish..... think whether my tank can cope or not.... will the fishes fight with each other.... alot of thoughts and reasoning will bombard in my head.... when i finally decided to buy the fish.... i will go back the shop... see if it is still ard... if it is.... then it is fate that is is mine!!!!! kakakaka.... simple reason.... i also dun wanna the fish to die in my hands.... i believe it is also my responsibility to not to be an irresponsible pet owner... makes me no different frm the dog farmer guy AT posted quite a while back..... dun know whether u guys understand me or not..... maybe i today feeling very 'wise' so... i try to come out with another 'thinking' thread... either that.... or i just trying to improve my rank by adding another post.... akakakakakaka.....
